Pony Therapy

Pony therapy has been shown to help lower stress levels, promote serotonin production, cut anxiety, and reduce high blood pressure. Research has shown that simply petting an animal lowers the stress hormone cortisol , while the social interaction between people and the ponies actually increases levels of the feel-good hormone oxytocin (the same hormone that bonds mothers to babies).

We have a lovely herd of 8 rescue ponies and a miniature donkey.  Our ponies are used to being handled by children so they are very gentle and well trained.  They love interacting with people.  Pony Therapy sessions can be indoors or outdoors, depending on weather.  We supply stable seating and bring each pony through to spend time with our visitors.  Nothing is rushed and we are happy to tell people about each ponies personality, breed or incredible rescue journey and recovery if they are interested.  We also have several barn cats that will occupy any lap they can find.  Our pony therapy sessions are 45-60 minutes in length, depending on group size and interest level.
